As part of an interdisciplinary team, sa_partners was commissioned with the conceptual and urban design for the development of the Circle at Zurich Airport into a new urban district with international appeal.
sa_partners was responsible for the architecture, urban design and planning, and developed an innovative mix of uses in its design. This took into account factors such as traffic, the environment, the economy, architecture, urban planning and process design. The results of the conceptual design, led by sa_partners, delivered a comprehensive feasibility package demonstrating that the concept is architecturally compelling, technically viable and financially sound. This was also incorporated into a master plan for pre-approval, laying the groundwork for the subsequent architectural competition that resulted in Riken Yamamoto winning project being realised.
