For the municipality of Volken, sa_partners developed a spatial model as a strategic basis for ensuring coordinated, sustainable and qualitative municipal development and, in particular, for strengthening the village centre.
Based on a holistic analysis, five directions for the spatial development of the municipality were formulated. Important topics such as the structural development of the village, the coordination of centre functions, the valorisation of landscape qualities as well as the preservation and valuation of elements of identity and meeting points were highlighted. As a product, these topics are located in the overall spatial view and corresponding key measures are defined. The spatial model forms a robust basis for coordinated and qualitative village development and for the upcoming overall revision of the building and zoning regulations.
